The Chapman Family Ranch (CFR) at Clarksville, Texas has a very progressive breeding program and a very progressive way of working their cattle.

The cattle are not stressed, rather they are worked using as little stress as possible.  Stress makes tough beef and the CFR is in the business of tender beef.

Weatherford College of Weatherford, Texas brought part of a special breeding class to the CFR to train and to observe the modern and different methods used by the CFR.  Below are some photos of that field trip.

The CFR uses such modern methods as freeze branding, bloodless castration, EID ear tags, wand registration and in chute scales to weigh and keep an orderly and computerized record for each animal at the CFR.

Here the students are riding to return Fort Bull back to the Big Barney Bull Trap.

The end of the day, and the horses are tired..

He prefers a mule to a horse.
